Scenes from Milan: Photo diary day 2 April 23, 2009

On day two in Milan the MINI Space team headed into the city to check out all the special events and installations happening for Design Week. In addition to Salone del Mobile and INTERNI there are many other smaller fairs taking place on streets, in alleyways, in artist's workshops, and at retail locations. But the fabulous contemporary design was only half of it. What really caught our eye and made us feel instantly at home in this style capital was the Italian sense of "bella vita." In other words, living the good life. From the cathedral Duomo di Milano and classical architecture of all kinds to multimedia sculpture installations by Adidas, Milan really knows how to showcase both traditional and contemporary design across the board.
