MINI United Festival Showcases Britain’s Leading Acts April 14, 2009

MINI is turning 50 years young. As if there were any doubt that MINI is still young despite its years, the party going down at the Silverstone racetrack in the UK from 22 - 24 May promises to put your best concert memories to shame.

With thousands of MINI fans from worldwide expected, and a roster of British musicians both legendary and upcoming, this is one musical memory you'll want to look back on when you're as old as MINI.

Calvin Harris

The music will last two days, beginning with DJ Calvin Harris and leading up to a headlining performance by Paul Weller, former lead singer of the Jam and longstanding musical icon. Other musical features include performances from the hot newcomers Ray Gun and also the ferocious live UK band, Twisted Wheel.

As if that weren't enough, when MINI fans aren't rocking out to the music, they can watch classic Mini races or the MINI CHALLENGE Clubsport Series, and even test drive them for a few laps around the track. A generally jovial carnival atmosphere will entertain partygoers with stuntshows, Go-Kart Races, Driver Training Programs, and more, and an exhibition will showcase 50 years of MINI history.

The Silverstone racetrack is just fifty kilometers from Oxford, England the birthplace of the MINI, where two special tours of the MINI plant are being offered for fans to see where the magic happens. So as the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, jump in your MINI and take a road trip to the MINI United Festival 2009.
