The MINI Space Team is fresh from Bread & Butter Berlin and bursting with tales of our favorite new (and classic) looks for the coming winter.
This year Bread & Butter had the theme of "The Original." The location at Templehof Airport was accented with a circus tent sized saloon, three halls of booths, and an overall vibe of Wild West Americana . Of course, the most intriguing part of the adventure was the people-watching: where else to spot the looks that will become next year's hottest trends than parading around live in this fashion-forward crowd? We managed to tear our eyes off the fashion parade of attendees just long enough to see a few great pieces and trends for Fall Winter 2010.
Plaid with your Plaid
Plaid. It's not going anywhere. We saw so many different shades and takes on the classic lumberjack plaid print. We saw it on classic button up flannel shirts, on scarves, dresses, everywhere. We even saw Plaid on Plaid prints like this one from UK brand Boxfresh.
Dapper Sport
The trend of mixing formal dress wear and sportwear is a standby (imagine a black suit with Adidas sneakers a la Run DMC). What we saw at this year's show were hybrid styles that merged dress and sportswear into one piece. The new collection from the family-owned Netherlands company Floris Van Bommel introduced handsome shoes that combined contrasting features into one accessory. We loved this men's dress shoe that boasts a classic leather body (This company has been cobbling classic shoes since 1734) with a purple nylon tongue and a turquoise rubber sole.
Graphic Knits for the Common man & woman
It looks like that long-standing staple of any hip casual wardrobe, the graphic tee, is about to be joined by a slightly more sophisticated (and cold-weather-friendly) cousin: the graphic knit. We just had to snap a pic of this slouchy teal cardigan with iconic scissors image by American label Civil Smith.
