Enter the “Hall of Fragments” September 26, 2008

The Hall of Fragments is the first room one enters in the Arsenale building and sets the pace for the rest of the exhibition. It is a dark and sensory experience, with screens and projections fighting for your attention. New interactive technologies are superimposed onto the old walls and screens hung from the ceiling.

Hall of Fragments was designed by David Rockwell from the Rockwell Group with Casey Jones + Reed Kroloff from JonesKroloff  in New York and looks at architecture's relationship to the visionary power of film imagery. It certainly does bring up a myriad of memories of the silver screen, from the Milkbar scene in "A Clockwork Orange" to Dorothy in the "Wizard of Oz".

Watch the Reed Kroloff interview where he talks about "Hall of Fragments".
