One great thing about going to an international competition for creative talent in fashion and photography is that you get to see THE most amazing creations. The other great thing about it, is that you get to meet the industry insiders who have been shaping creativity from the inside out.
We were thrilled to sit down with both Cecilia Dean, the Editor of Visionaire, and Elisa Palomino the Vice President of Design for Diane von Furstenberg in Trieste, Italy during the ITS#EIGHT event. Both of them spoke about their experience as jury members of ITS.

RP: What are you looking for in terms of selecting a winning photograph for ITS#PHOTO competition?
CD: When all of us on the jury had a conversation about what we did and didn't like I realized that I look at things for fantasy. I want someone to create a world, that's a little weird, that I can kind of get lost in. A world where I'm not totally sure what's going on...but it's an interesting scenario. If you want to be in the photo somehow, meet those people, and feel that atmosphere, really be in that environment then that is the most intriguing thing. So my top choices (for the winner of ITS#PHOTO) were based on that.

RP: What are you looking for specifically when you're making a jury decision about a winning fashion design here at ITS?
EP: It's everything - you're looking for talent...at least in my case that's the most important thing. You're looking for their personalities and you're looking at how these talent, personality, and professionalism, how everything comes together and how they manage to create an amazing collection. So I think it's a mixture of everything that makes you fall in love with somebody, that makes you want to push for that person to get a prize. And not only get a prize, but to get a life after that because I think the most important thing about ITS is that they get a great opportunity to meet all the press, head-hunters, eventually get jobs and they get such an amazing exposure to the world internationally.
