And now finally, after much careful deliberation by our esteemed judges, we are proud to announce the winners of the MINI Space T-Shirt Design Competition.
To refresh your memory, we asked designers to create a shirt that is a symbol for solidarity in the fight against AIDS worldwide.
The winning design will be printed on 2000 limited edition T-Shirts to be sold on the MINI online store with 5 EUR from each sale going to benefit the LIFE BALL, Europe's biggest and most spectacular AIDS benefit event.
And, in keeping with the theme of LIFE BALL 2009, the theme of the T-Shirt competition was "Let Love Flow".
The MINI Space community sure let their love of design flow in, and almost 2000 great entries came in over the course of the competition. And now to present our winning designs:
Jury Prize (The jury, was made up of LIFE BALL founder Gery Keszler and world famous Fashion designers, The Blonds).
Statement from the Designer, Marissa Meyer: "I wanted to treat the heartflow t-shirt design as a simple, both typographic and iconic design. A loose, hand-drawn font seemingly floats inside an invisible heart-shape lending a feeling of fluidity; as if the letters itself are floating loosely in space only to be contained by a universal theme. They find and respect each other's spaces as we as individuals should too. The well-known aids ribbon is turned to its side to become a free abstract fish swimming between the letters. The word "Love" is linked and balanced to the ribbon by the same colour red. When the fish swims into the "F" it pushes out and overflow of love from the letter in a non-threatening way."
