About me

My work is very much about communication. Through studying a degree in illustration it gives me a chance to create a narrative, and produce images that convey strong ideas and emotions in a variety of different ways. My work has a great deal of diversity, I sometimes work quite humorously, and for that I employ a way of drawing that highlights that further. Alternatively I also work extremely detailed, taking references from fashion and popular culture to create large but intricate pieces.I have been strongly influenced by performance especially dancing, and this has both on a subconscious level, and at some times more obviously inspired my work. Drawing is the most fundamental aspect to my work. I have studied a lot of life drawing and I am extremely influenced by the figure. I work very impulsively and I enjoy experimental mark making. I want my work to be seen by a very large audience, with illustration this can work on a more commercial level, but I would also like my work to be viewed in a gallery environment.
