About Check-In Architecture

Check-in Architecture is a participative research project supported by MINI. We invite artists, architects, designers and sociologists studying in the most prestigious universities in Europe and MINI Space members to tell stories about their cities in form of 3 minute-long documentaries.

Check-in architecture is a project willing to directly involve students, postmodern trendsetters and you, MINI Space members in the coolest contemporary architecture issues, giving you the chance to live and tell the most visionary and fascinating projects in the European landscapes; an opportunity to express yourself! The project is a challenge to a generation that’s changing the way we move around Europe and the way we interact with media, a generation living low-cost. We're verifying their presence as it redefines the geography of our imaginaries. A curator and researcher team coordinated by Mario Benini, Andrea Lissoni, Luca Molinari and Luca Martinazzoli designs missions to explore flashes of cultural significance all over the continent that students and MINI Space members will be able to apply online for on a day-by-day basis. The missions will start from 5 Italian MINI dealer: Autocrocetta in Turin, Motorsport in Mestre, MINI Milano in Milan, MINI Roma in Rome and Net in Naples. Mission agents will be equipped with a MINI Clubman during their mission. A writing and editorial staff consisting of Fabio Falzone, Nicola Bozzi and American critic Andrew Berardini develop the background materials and essays that accompany the students and MINI Space members on their missions. Check-in Architecture is a cross-media project born on the internet. The project interacts with its participants through MINIspace.com, collecting and managing the documentaries and giving agents and MINI Space members the possibility to get in touch. Check-in Architecture is part of the Urban Screen programming and an exhibition taking place during the Architects' Congress in Turin and the Venice Biennale.
